Situations Where an Employee May Be Unlawfully Terminated

There are a number of situations that may give rise to a wrongful termination claim:

Wrongful Termination Checklist

Determining if your termination qualifies as unlawful can be challenging and knowing what comes next can be even trickier.

Being fired based on your race, age, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, pregnancy or disability would be labeled as wrongful termination.

Getting fired because you spoke out about labor laws such as safety regulations, meal breaks, rest breaks, and overtime also falls under the scope of wrongful termination.

Ask yourself these questions to determine if you have a valid wrongful termination claim:

Ruben Limonjyan’s passion for the employment law field started while still in law school. Ruben clerked at a boutique Plaintiff’s employment law firm in Beverly Hills during the entire latter half of his law school career. Ruben took a heavy liking to this area of the law and took plethora of labor and employment law classes while still in law school. After seeing the difficulties so many employees dealt with at the hands of their employers, he devoted his career to it.

After taking the California Bar exam, Ruben continued his post-bar legal career at NBC Universal Media LLC’s employment law group. It was there that he learned about the strategies and tactics commonly used by corporate defense attorneys.

During his time there he, among other things, conducted legal research and trainings aimed at human resources managers on various novel legal issues, helped update harassment and discrimination policies used in training sessions with cast and crew, as well as prepare due diligence analyses for corporate takeovers. He later joined a boutique plaintiff employment firm in Downtown Los Angeles, where he gained experience as a litigator for employees who had faced mistreatment at work.
